Why generic desk organizers fail
Pens roll. Cables tangle. Nothing has a home.
Stock desk organizers assume a rectangular grid of same-size cells. Real desk drawers hold objects with wildly different shapes — long thin pens, wide flat notebooks, round tape rolls, coiled cables. A grid wastes space and still lets everything migrate.
A printed insert is one piece with silhouette-fit pockets. Pens drop into drilled cylinders, notebooks stand upright in book-spine bays, cables coil around a spool with a plug-out slit. Everything stays where you left it — no matter how many times you slam the drawer.

Does it work in an IKEA Alex 5 or Alex 9?
Yes — Alex is our most common desk-drawer footprint. See /uses/ikea-alex-drawer-organizer for the presets sized to the Alex 26.5 × 37 cm interior. This page uses the same presets by default.
How do I organize pens without them rolling around?
Two options in the editor: a shallow bay with narrow separators (each pen in a slot), or a dedicated pen block with drilled cylindrical pockets. The second reads more premium and stops rolling entirely. Both are one click apart in the preset picker.
What about cables and chargers?
Coiled cables fit in a deep bay with a slit in the sidewall so you can pull the plug end out without unpacking the cable. Wall bricks stand upright in a taller compartment; USB hubs sit flat.
Can I share the drawer between office and jewelry / watch storage?
Yes. Add a shallow watch tray with padded felt insets (we recommend gluing a strip of adhesive felt to the bottom of the pocket after you receive it) alongside your pens and notebooks. The insert stays one piece.
Will paper clips stick to the print?
No — PLA is not magnetic. If you want a magnetic strip for paper clips, we can slot in a rare-earth magnet bar as a request; email [email protected] before ordering.
