Why generic dividers don’t work
Kitchen drawers are never standard.
Extendable dividers waste space — you lose 20 % of your drawer to the mechanism, and the moment you shove in a big serving spoon it pops apart. Bamboo trays are sized for a mystery drawer that’s never yours. Silicone mats slide.
A printed insert is one piece, cut to your drawer’s interior to the millimetre. Compartments match what you actually store — long slots for spatulas, angled bays for cutlery, a stepped bay for measuring cups. It sits flat, it doesn’t shift, and it lifts out for cleaning.

PLA is a plant-derived plastic, non-toxic and taste-neutral. It wipes clean with warm soapy water and takes a top-rack dishwasher cycle up to about 40 °C. It also comes in colours that match a kitchen — soft cream, warm grey, deep black, natural wood-tone.

Sizing
How to measure your drawer.

Empty the drawer
Take everything out. Remove any existing dividers or mats sitting on the base.

Measure the interior in millimetres
Interior width (inside face-to-face) × interior depth (front-to-back) × interior height (base to underside of the rail above). A metric tape reads clearer than imperial for this — most modern tapes have both.

Subtract 3-5 mm on width + depth
That’s your safe clearance so the insert drops in without binding on side walls that aren’t perfectly square. Height can be exact.

FAQ
Kitchen-drawer specifics.
Is it dishwasher-safe?
Up to about 40 °C, yes — the top rack of most dishwashers stays under that. Any run over 45 °C will start to soften PLA and warp the insert. For a heavy-duty dishwasher household, hand-wash with warm soapy water and it will outlive the drawer.
Can it hold sharp knives?
Yes, and we recommend orienting the pocket lengthwise with a soft PLA sidewall between blade and drawer. Cutlery-block-style vertical knife storage is a common Alex-shallow layout — email [email protected] if you want that as a preset.
What about food-contact safety?
Our PLA is food-safe as a rest surface (spec sheet on request). Direct food storage — measuring cups or scoops that touch flour, sugar, salt — is fine. For long-term marinades or wet food storage, use a lined container inside the insert.
Do you offer custom colors to match my kitchen?
We stock a standard palette (white, cream, black, warm grey, natural PLA) plus one accent per order. If you want a specific Pantone match or a wood-grain PLA, email us before ordering and we will confirm availability.
What if my drawer is not rectangular?
Old cabinetry and some IKEA units have rounded interior corners or tapered walls. Punch the tightest rectangle that fits inside those corners; a 3-5 mm gap on each side is standard clearance so the insert drops in without binding.
